Books on Approval Voting

  • Approval Voting (1983) by Steven J. Brams and Peter C. Fishburn. Birkhauser-Boston. This is an excellent book although a bit technical at times. It is getting quite difficult to find a copy, however the current holder of the publishing rights, Springer-Verlag, has expressed some interest in the publication of an updated edition.
  • Making Multicandidate Elections More Democratic (1988) by Samual Merrill. Princeton University Press. This book is also highly recommended for its strong analysis.
